About ICAP 2022

The 27th International Conference on Atomic Physics (formerly ICAP 2020, now ICAP 2022) will be held from 17 to 22 July, 2022, in Toronto, Canada. Registration is open! We also offer both in-person and online attendance options. The meeting features invited plenary presentations and contributed poster presentations on cutting-edge research in the field of atomic, molecular, and optical physics. In the pages of this site, you will find information about the speaker schedule, travel, sponsors, and answers to frequently asked questions.

Venue

The main venue for ICAP-27 is the spectacular Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM), at 273 Bloor Street West, Toronto, Ontario. Since 1886, the Royal Conservatory has offered a sequenced system of study and assessment for music education to students across Canada. Its Koerner Hall offers an unparalleled acoustic experience to lovers of music (or physics).

The poster sessions will be held at Hart House (7 Hart House Circle), which less than ten minutes' walk from the RCM into the University of Toronto Campus. During the academic year, Hart House is a student centre, offers rooms for studying, recreation and socializing. Its facilities include a theatre, an art gallery, reading and sitting rooms, lounges and reception areas, offices, a library, music rooms, conference and study rooms, as well as a restaurant.

Each of these venues is only a few minutes' walk from conference hotels [see ICAP-27 Map] and from the closest subway stops: St. George station and Queen's Park station. What to learn more about Toronto? Follow these links for its history, festivals, parks, museums, and other attractions.

Cancellations are permitted until June 15, 2022. Registrants will receive a full refund less a CAD $100 administrative fee. If ICAP-27 is converted to a fully virtual meeting, all registration fee categories will be converted to the virtual rate, without any administrative fee. If you wish to convert to virtual, you may do so prior to June 15th by emailing icap2022secretariat@venuewest.com. Cancellations must be submitted in writing to Venue West Conference Services no later than June 15, 2022. For Canada visa application denials, the cancellation policy will be extended by one month to July 15, 2022, provided you submitted your application on or before April 15, 2022. Applicants must provide proof of the visa application date, the appointment date, and the denial letter to receive a refund. Registration transfers to another person are permitted and must be submitted in writing. After these cutoff dates, we are still able to convert in-person registrations to a virtual attendance option, but unfortunately are no longer able to provide refunds.
